Transfer from Barcelona to Toulouse: route, journey time and vehicles

Toulouse's Place du Capitole is about 390 km from central Barcelona. Your chauffeur leaves on the Ronda Litoral and the C-33, follows the AP-7 north to La Jonquera and crosses into France at Le Perthus. From there the A9, known as La Catalane, runs to Narbonne, where the car joins the A61, the Autoroute des Deux Mers, past Carcassonne to Toulouse. Without traffic the drive takes around 3 hours 50 minutes.

The Catalan section of the AP-7 has been toll-free since September 2021. The French A9 and A61 are toll motorways, and those tolls are already in the fixed price we confirm before you set off. Spain and France are both in the Schengen area, but French police can carry out checks at Le Perthus. Every passenger, children included, needs a valid passport or national identity card. If you are not an EU national, check that your visa or residence permit covers entry to France.

Perpignan is about 190 km from Barcelona, close to halfway, and Narbonne works well for lunch. Carcassonne is beside the A61, about 90 km before Toulouse: with an hour or two you can walk up to La Cité, the walled city that UNESCO listed as a World Heritage Site in 1997, and still reach Toulouse in the afternoon. Tell us your stops when you ask for a quote and we include them in the price.

In Toulouse the A61 joins the ring road. Your chauffeur drops you at your hotel around the Capitole, Les Carmes or Saint-Cyprien, at Matabiau station or at Toulouse-Blagnac Airport, north-west of the city. Airbus has sites in Blagnac, next to the airport. If you have a meeting there, give us the exact address and time; the ring road gets very busy at rush hour and we plan the Barcelona departure around it.

In close to four hours on the road you can work, take calls or sleep, with no changes and no timetable to keep. Your chauffeur loads the cases at your front door or hotel and unloads them at the other end. That counts most when you travel as a family, with a lot of luggage, with professional equipment or with older relatives, or when you want to stop along the way.

One to three passengers travel comfortably in a Mercedes E-Class with 3 suitcases. The S-Class gives more rear space and a quieter cabin for a long business journey. The V-Class seats up to 7 with their luggage. Larger groups, such as a sports team or a company delegation, can travel in a minibus with 8 to 19 seats or a coach with 20 to 55.

FAQ

Transfer to Toulouse: frequently asked questions

What documents do I need to cross into France?

Every passenger, children included, needs a valid passport or national ID card, because French police can run checks at Le Perthus. Non-EU nationals should carry their passport and, where required, their visa or residence permit.

Are the French motorway tolls included?

Yes. The A9 and A61 tolls are part of the fixed price. The AP-7 between Barcelona and La Jonquera is toll-free. You pay nothing extra on the way unless you add stops or waiting time that were not in the quote.

Can we stop at Carcassonne on the way to Toulouse?

Yes. Carcassonne sits beside the A61, about 90 km before Toulouse, so the detour is short. Tell us how long you want at La Cité and we build it into the quote.

Can you take me to Toulouse-Blagnac Airport or Matabiau station?

Yes. If you are connecting with a flight or a train, give us its departure time and we suggest a Barcelona pick-up time with a margin for traffic on the Toulouse ring road.

Where will my chauffeur meet me?

At the pick-up point agreed when you book. Your chauffeur lets you know when the car arrives. We include 15 minutes of courtesy waiting from the agreed pick-up time. We charge for extra waiting.

How much does the transfer from Barcelona to Toulouse cost?

It depends on the vehicle, the date and the time. We send you a fixed price before the trip, with tolls and luggage included, and a quote needs no prepayment. You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before pick-up.

How long does the transfer from Barcelona to Toulouse take?

The journey covers about 390 km and takes roughly 3 h 50 min without traffic. Rush hour and high season add time, so allow for this when you choose your pick-up time if you have a flight or sailing to catch.
