Transfer from Barcelona Airport to Vic: route, journey time and vehicles

Vic is about 85 km from El Prat. Your chauffeur leaves the airport for the Ronda de Dalt ring road (B-20), crosses the upper part of Barcelona to the Trinitat interchange and continues on the C-33 to Mollet, where it joins the C-17 up the Congost valley. The road passes Granollers, La Garriga, Centelles and Tona before it reaches the Vic plain. There are no tolls on the way. Without traffic the drive takes about 1 h 10 min, a few minutes less from T2 than from T1.

Getting out of Barcelona is usually the slow part. In the morning rush and early evening, the Ronda de Dalt and the Trinitat interchange fill up, and traffic crawls on the C-33 and C-17 until past Granollers. If the B-20 is at a standstill, your chauffeur can switch to the Ronda Litoral (B-10), which also leads to the Trinitat. Winter mornings on the Vic plain are often foggy; your chauffeur then drives more slowly, and we let you know if that adds time.

At T1 and T2, your chauffeur waits at the arrivals exit holding a sign with your name. We track your flight, so the pick-up moves with an early or late landing, and you have 1 h 15 min of waiting included from touchdown to collect your bags. If you are bringing unusual luggage, such as instruments, bikes or sample cases for a trade fair, tell us when you book and we will send a vehicle that takes it all.

You can explore Vic on foot from the Plaça Major, the old market square, where the weekly market sets up on Tuesday and Saturday mornings. A few minutes away are the cathedral, with murals by Josep Maria Sert, the 2nd-century Roman temple and the Museu Episcopal. The old town has narrow streets, so if you are staying inside it, your chauffeur stops at the nearest accessible point and helps with your bags. We also drive to Manlleu, about 10 km away, to farmhouses in the Montseny and the Collsacabra, or to Rupit, around 45 minutes from Vic on a mountain road.

Two events bring crowds to Vic: the Mercat del Ram, a farming and livestock fair held over the Palm Sunday weekend, and the Mercat de Música Viva, a live music fair in mid-September. On those days streets in the centre close and hotels fill early, so book your transfer when you book your room. For the drive back to the airport, allow for traffic into Barcelona; give us your flight time and terminal and we will suggest a pick-up time.

One or two people with normal luggage fit easily in a Mercedes E-Class. The S-Class suits an executive visiting a company in the Osona area, or any arrival that calls for discretion. Families and groups of up to 7 ride in the V-Class, which takes 7 suitcases. For work teams, university delegations or trade fair exhibitors, a minibus seats 8 to 19 and a coach 20 to 55.

FAQ

Transfer to Vic: frequently asked questions

Is there a direct train from the airport to Vic?

No. The Rodalies R2 Nord runs from the station at T2 to Barcelona-Sants, where you change to the R3 for Vic. If you land at T1, you first take the shuttle bus to T2. Check current timetables and engineering works on rodalies.gencat.cat.

Are there tolls between the airport and Vic?

Not on the usual route via the B-20, C-33 and C-17. If a closure forces your chauffeur onto a toll road, the toll is already included in your fixed price.

Can you take me to a farmhouse or another town in Osona?

Yes. We drive to any address in the area, including Manlleu, Tona, Centelles, Torelló and the Collsacabra. For a farmhouse, send us the exact address or a map pin and a contact number, because some access roads are country tracks.

Do you invoice companies based in the area?

Yes. Companies that use the airport often can pay by monthly invoice. Each transfer has its own fixed price, which we confirm before the trip.

Where will my chauffeur meet me?

In the arrivals hall, at the exit from baggage reclaim, holding a sign with your name. We track your flight and wait 1 h 15 min free of charge from landing, even if it is delayed. Extra waiting time is charged.

How much does the transfer from Barcelona Airport to Vic cost?

It depends on the vehicle, the date and the time. We send you a fixed price before the trip, with tolls and luggage included, and a quote needs no prepayment. You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before pick-up.

How long does the transfer from Barcelona Airport to Vic take?

The journey covers about 85 km and takes roughly 1 h 10 min without traffic. Rush hour and high season add time, so allow for this when you choose your pick-up time if you have a flight or sailing to catch.
