Transfer from Barcelona Airport to Castelldefels: route, journey time and vehicles
Castelldefels is about 13 km from El Prat on the C-31. This toll-free road avoids Barcelona. Without traffic you reach the seafront in around 15 minutes. Bellamar and Montemar need a few extra minutes on narrow, winding hillside streets. For airport returns, we drop you at T1 or T2. We also drive to central Barcelona, the cruise port and Fira Gran Via, about 20 minutes away without traffic.
There is no direct train. From T2, Rodalies takes you to El Prat de Llobregat station. There you change to the R2 Sud for Castelldefels. From T1, first take the shuttle to T2. A car avoids changes and arrives in about 15 minutes without traffic.
Castelldefels beach runs for almost 5 km, from the Gavà Mar boundary to the first rocks of the Garraf coast, with hotels and restaurants along the seafront promenade. Behind the town lies the Garraf Natural Park, with walking and cycling trails. The Olympic Canal, built for the canoeing events of the 1992 Games, is still used for rowing and canoeing, and the castle stands above the old town.
