Barcelona Airport to Begur private transfer

Begur is about 145 km from El Prat, roughly 1 h 45 min without traffic. Your chauffeur skirts Barcelona on the Ronda de Dalt (B-20) and the C-33, heads north on the AP-7 towards Girona and, near Maçanet, turns onto the C-35 to Llagostera. From there the C-65 and C-31 pass Platja d'Aro, Palamós and Palafrugell, and the GI-653 climbs to Begur. If the C-31 is congested, your chauffeur can stay on the AP-7 to Girona and approach on the C-66 through La Bisbal d'Empordà.

The village wraps around a hill topped by the ruins of its castle, recorded since the 11th century and blown up in 1810 during the Peninsular War; the ruins are now a viewpoint over the Empordà plain. In the streets below you will see the cases d'indians, houses built in the 19th century by local people who made their fortune in Cuba. In early September the Fira d'Indians marks that history with a market and music across the village.

Begur's coves are spread along its coastline: Sa Riera to the north, next to Pals beach; Aiguafreda and Sa Tuna with their fishermen's houses; Fornells and Aiguablava; and Platja Fonda at the foot of a long flight of steps. The roads down to the coves are narrow and winding, and parking is scarce in summer.

Pals, with its medieval quarter and the rice fields of the lower Ter, is about 8 km away, and Palafrugell about 10 km, with Calella de Palafrugell, Llafranc and Tamariu on its coast. On the first Saturday of July the Cantada d'Havaneres, an evening of Cuban-Catalan sea songs, takes place on Port Bo beach in Calella de Palafrugell, and in July and August the Cap Roig Festival stages concerts in the Cap Roig gardens. If you have tickets, we drive you there and collect you afterwards.

For a discreet arrival at a villa or a small hotel, the Mercedes S-Class is the best choice, and for a couple or a business trip the E-Class is enough. Families with plenty of luggage, or golfers heading to Golf de Pals or Empordà Golf with their bags, travel in the 7-seat V-Class. For weddings at Empordà country estates we coordinate minibuses to carry guests between hotels and the venue. If the lane to a house is too narrow for the minibus, your chauffeur stops at the nearest accessible point.

If you can fly into Girona instead, Begur is about 64 km from that airport, around an hour. For the return to El Prat, allow about two hours in summer: traffic on the AP-7 towards Barcelona usually builds on August Sundays, and we include that margin in your pick-up time.
