Transfer from Barcelona Airport to Platja d'Aro: route, journey time and vehicles
Platja d'Aro is about 120 km from El Prat. Your chauffeur skirts Barcelona on the Ronda de Dalt and the C-33, heads north on the AP-7 towards Girona and, near Maçanet, turns onto the C-35 to Llagostera; from there the C-65 and C-31 drop down to the coast. Without traffic the drive takes around 85 minutes. The same corridor serves S'Agaró, Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Calonge and Palamós, all within a few kilometres. If you can fly into Girona instead, Platja d'Aro is about 38 km from that airport, roughly 40 minutes.
Platja d'Aro has more than 2 km of shoreline: Platja Gran in front of the promenade, with smaller coves such as Cala Rovira and Sa Conca at either end. The main avenue is lined with shops, restaurants and bars, and in summer the town fills with families staying in holiday flats and second homes.
About 4 km south lies S'Agaró, the garden city that industrialist Josep Ensesa and architect Rafael Masó began building in 1924 in the Catalan Noucentista style. Its villas look onto a coastal path that runs beside the sea from Sant Pol beach to Sa Conca.
Inland, the village of Castell d'Aro keeps the Benedormiens castle, and Sant Feliu de Guíxols, about 10 minutes away, has the monastery with the Porta Ferrada gateway. Each summer, between July and August, the town hosts the Porta Ferrada Festival, which has staged concerts since 1958. If you have concert tickets, we drive you there and collect you afterwards.
