Almost every cruise ship that sails from Barcelona docks at the Adossat Wharf (Moll Adossat), below Montjuïc hill, 2 to 4 km from the city by the port's own figures. That is where terminals A, B, C, D (Palacruceros), E (Helix) and the MSC terminal stand. The seventh, the Barcelona Sud terminal at the World Trade Center, sits on the edge of the old town and closes at the end of 2026. By car, the port is 20 to 30 minutes from Barcelona-El Prat Airport and about 15 minutes from a city-centre hotel.
Barcelona cruise terminals at a glance
The Port of Barcelona runs seven international passenger terminals. The distances to the city below are the ones the port publishes for each terminal.
| Terminal | Wharf | Who uses it | Distance to the city |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | Adossat | Several cruise lines | 2 km |
| B | Adossat | Several cruise lines | 2 km |
| C | Adossat | Several cruise lines; stops operating at the end of October 2026 | 2.5 km |
| D, Palacruceros | Adossat | Priority for Carnival group ships | 2.5 km |
| E, Helix | Adossat | Priority for Carnival group ships | 3 km |
| MSC | Adossat | MSC Cruises | 3.9 km |
| WTCB (Barcelona Sud) | Barcelona Wharf | Mid-size ships; closes at the end of 2026 | 400 m |
The Carnival group includes Carnival Cruise Line, Princess, Holland America, Cunard, P&O Cruises, Costa and AIDA, so those ships usually berth at D or E. MSC ships use the MSC terminal at the far end of the wharf, the furthest from the city. Other lines, such as Norwegian, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity, have no terminal of their own in 2026, so check the terminal for each sailing.
What changes in 2026 and 2027
In 2025 the port and Barcelona City Council agreed to cut the number of cruise terminals. According to the Port of Barcelona, Terminal C stops operating at the end of October 2026 and is due to be demolished before the end of the year. The Barcelona Sud terminal at the World Trade Center closes at the end of the year, and its calls move to the Adossat Wharf. Terminals A and B will be demolished later.
A new Terminal G is planned on the Adossat Wharf under a concession to Royal Caribbean Group, the owner of Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Silversea. The port expects it to open during 2027. If you sail in 2027, ignore older guides that send you to Terminal C or the World Trade Center and go by the terminal printed in your documents.
How to find your terminal
Your cruise line states the terminal in your boarding documents or its app, sometimes only a few days before departure. The Port of Barcelona website also publishes a cruise forecast by month and for the next seven days, listing each ship and its terminal.
When you book your transfer, send us the ship's name and sailing date. We check the terminal, and your chauffeur drives straight to the right door. Terminal A and the MSC terminal are well over a kilometre apart, a long walk if you get it wrong with your cases.
Barcelona Airport to the cruise port
From Terminal 1 to the Adossat Wharf it is about 20 km, and from Terminal 2 about 16 to 17 km. Your chauffeur takes the C-31 out of the airport, joins the Ronda Litoral ring road (B-10) at the Zona Franca and leaves it at the port entrance below Montjuïc. Without traffic the drive takes 20 to 25 minutes to terminals A and B and about five minutes more to the MSC terminal. Weekday rush hours slow the Ronda Litoral down.
| Option | Route | Changes with luggage |
|---|---|---|
| Private transfer with chauffeur | Arrivals hall to the door of your terminal | None |
| Aerobús + Cruise Bus | Aerobús to Plaça de Catalunya, walk down La Rambla to the shuttle stop, shuttle to your terminal | Two, plus more than 1 km on foot |
The Aerobús leaves from the arrivals level of each terminal (line A1 from T1, A2 from T2) and ends at Plaça de Catalunya. The Cruise Bus shuttle links the Adossat terminals with a stop next to the bottom of La Rambla. It is a cheap option if you travel light. With two large cases each, every change adds time and effort. Check current timetables and fares on each operator's website, as they change.
We run the Barcelona Airport to cruise port transfer as a VTC service, Spain's licensed private-hire category for pre-booked cars with a driver. Your chauffeur tracks your flight and meets you in arrivals with a name sign. Free waiting time is 1 h 15 min from the moment your plane lands, even if it lands late.
Flying in on embarkation day
Your cruise line sets an all-aboard time, and a late flight does not move it. Add baggage reclaim, the drive and some margin for traffic. If you only have a few hours between landing and all-aboard, consider flying in the day before and spending a night in Barcelona. If you land in the morning and board in the afternoon, you can book the chauffeur by the hour and have lunch in the city with your luggage in the boot.
From your hotel or Barcelona Sants station
| Starting point | Distance to the Adossat Wharf | Time without traffic |
|---|---|---|
| Plaça de Catalunya | 6 to 7 km | 15 to 20 min |
| Passeig de Gràcia and Diagonal | 7 to 8 km | 15 to 20 min |
| Barcelona Sants station | 6.5 to 8 km | 15 to 20 min |
| Port Vell and World Trade Center | 3 to 4 km | 8 to 13 min |
The lower figures are for terminals A and B and the higher ones for the MSC terminal. For a Barcelona hotel to cruise port transfer, we set the pick-up so you reach the terminal inside your check-in window. At hotels your chauffeur waits 15 minutes as a courtesy, so come down to the lobby with your cases ready.
Embarkation day: timing and luggage
Your cruise line gives you a check-in time or window, and turning up much earlier will not get you on board sooner. Before you leave the hotel, attach the luggage tags your line sent you to each case.
At the terminal door you hand over your large cases, and your cruise line delivers them to your cabin. You board with your carry-on only, so keep passports, medication and anything you need before evening in it. Private cars use the terminal lanes to drop off or collect passengers. Use designated car parks for longer stays. Your chauffeur stops in the drop-off lane, unloads with you and leaves your cases at the baggage drop.
At the entrance to the Adossat Wharf, just past Terminal B, there is a security checkpoint and a roundabout that sends traffic to each terminal. When several ships change passengers on the same day, cars, coaches and vans queue there together, and we set off earlier.
Disembarkation day: ship to airport or hotel
Your cruise line organises disembarkation in groups and tells you on board when yours leaves. Send us that time and the number of cases. We set the pick-up for that time, and your chauffeur waits at the terminal exit with a name sign. At the port you get 30 minutes of free waiting from the agreed pick-up time. If disembarkation takes longer, extra waiting is charged.
From the Adossat Wharf to the airport is 20 to 30 minutes to T1 or T2. Leave the check-in margin your airline asks for. A Barcelona cruise port to airport transfer has a fixed price agreed before the trip, with tolls and luggage included.
If your flight leaves in the evening, you can book the chauffeur by the hour and spend the day in the city with your luggage in the car. You can also leave your bags at a left-luggage service: the port lists Bags&Go on the Sant Bertran Wharf.
Which vehicle for cruise luggage
A week at sea usually means one large case per person, sometimes two. Count suitcases as well as passengers.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Suitcases | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mercedes E-Class | 3 | 3 | A couple, or three people with one case each |
| Mercedes S-Class | 2 to 3 | 2 to 3 | A couple who want more rear space |
| Mercedes V-Class | 7 | 7 | Families and two couples with full luggage |
| Minibus | 8 to 19 | Depends on the group | Groups boarding together |
| Coach | 20 to 55 | Depends on the group | Large groups, weddings and company trips |
For four adults, choose a larger vehicle, such as the Mercedes V-Class. Child seats are free if you ask for them when you book.
If your ship only calls at Barcelona for the day
On a port day the Cruise Bus drops you near La Rambla, and from there you can walk or take the metro. To see the Sagrada Família, Park Güell or Montserrat without watching bus timetables, our cruise shore excursions give you a chauffeur by the hour from the terminal. We plan the return with a margin before the all-aboard time your cruise line sets. You choose the places; the driver is not a licensed tour guide.
You can ask for a quote with no prepayment by WhatsApp, phone, email or on the booking page. Full details of the service are on our cruise port transfers page.
FAQ
Where do cruise ships dock in Barcelona?
Almost all of them dock at the Adossat Wharf, in terminals A to E or the MSC terminal. Until the end of 2026 some mid-size ships also use the Barcelona Sud terminal at the World Trade Center.
Can I walk from the cruise port to the city centre?
Yes, if you have no luggage. From the Adossat terminals, pedestrians reach the city over the Porta d'Europa bridge. The port puts terminals A and B 2 km from the city, the MSC terminal 3.9 km and the World Trade Center terminal 400 m.
How long is the drive from Barcelona Airport to the cruise port?
About 20 to 25 minutes without traffic to terminals A and B, a little more to the MSC terminal. Weekday rush hours on the Ronda Litoral add time.
Can I leave my car at the cruise terminal?
Use a designated car park. The port lists parking at Terminal E and the World Trade Center. You cannot leave your car in the terminal drop-off lanes.
What if disembarkation runs late?
You have 30 minutes of free waiting from the agreed pick-up time. If you expect to take longer, message us on WhatsApp and your chauffeur stays; extra time is charged.
